(however you should be trying to move to using ipsec/l2tp or sstp or openvpn, but most ppl like pptp as its often the "easeist" to traverse nat/firewalls, so it will work at various remote locations when the others may have issues, atleaste when compared to ipsec/l2tp)). also provided you use a long username and pass, it does still take a bit of work to crack that auth / auth encryption (its not as easy as WEP cracking, as an example). the issue w pptp is that the encryption used for the auth is partially cracked, thus its easier than it should be to crack the auth info provided that info/handshake is captured by an actor. Fyi, pptp passwords are generally (almost always) NOT sent in clear text.
